Johnson Design, Inc. is a Charleston, South Carolina graphic design and advertising studio with clients nationwide. Rob Johnson started his graphic design career twenty years ago at the Boston agency Cabot Advertising, working on accounts such as Fidelity Investments, NYNEX and New England Electric. He later spent ten years as design director for Primedia’s national consumer title SAIL, where he was responsible for the design of the magazine, as well as related collateral and advertising projects. Rob tossed the snow shovel and relocated to Charleston in 1999 taking a job as creative director for Quoizel.

Johnson Design was started as a freelance business in 1995 and later incorporated in 2001 as a full-time studio. Since going out on his own, he has worked with local and national clients including Anchor Commercial, Arcadia Publishing, Ashley Hall, The Beach Company, Berle Manufacturing, James Doran & Company, Keller Williams, The Motley Fool, Pearson Education, McGraw-Hill, W.W. Norton, and Ziff Properties. He has also contracted with local agencies on accounts such as Albermarle Yachts, Beneteau, Cummins Marine, Dunes Properties, Orient Express Hotels and Piggly Wiggly,. Rob’s design experience covers a wide range from consumer advertising and packaging, to publication design and corporate ID. His work has been cited for excellence in Print’s Design annual and the Bookbinder’s Guild of New York. He is a graduate of the Massachusetts College of Art with a BFA in graphic design.
